A solid grounding in financial planning
Andrew began his career in the early 2000s with an independent financial adviser firm. There, he grew his knowledge of the entire financial planning world, including pensions and investments.
Having thrived in his role, Andrew was eventually tasked with building and running a new mortgage division. This was to prove pivotal to his life and career.
When the firm later chose to step away from mortgages, its clients were vocal about remaining with Andrew. Simmonds Mortgage Services was founded and grew from there, built on referrals, repeat business and word of mouth.
The mortgage industry turned out to be exactly the right fit. The work rewards Andrew’s methodical approach and determination for solving complicated situations. Above all, it’s allowed him to do the thing he values most: help good people make good decisions.

Outside work, Andrew is a keen, if modest, golfer, and enjoys travelling with his wife, good food and a decent glass of wine. He is a long-suffering Tottenham Hotspur supporter and proud sponsor of a local children’s football team.
Andrew’s whole philosophy is based on a healthy work-life balance, and he places great value on his home life and time outside the office. It serves as a constant reminder that behind every mortgage application is a real person with a real family, and he takes great pride in helping them achieve their life goals.
